  • 3/4 cup brown sugar For caramel-like depth
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Elevates overall taste
  • 2 large eggs Provides structure
  • 2 1/4 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour Key for soft crumb
  • 1 tsp baking soda Leavening agent
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt Enhances flavors
Chocolate and Nuts
  • 12 oz miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips Melty and decadent
  • 1 cup pecan chips Finely diced for crunch
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Extra chocolate goodness
  • 1/2 cup white vanilla chips Lovely contrast

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs using an electric mixer until smooth.
  2. Gradually add in the unbleached all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Beat until just combined, ensuring not to overmix.
  3. Fold in the miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips, pecan chips, and the mix of semi-sweet and white vanilla chips.
  4. Grease a 9×13” glass baking dish with butter or non-stick spray and spread the brownie batter evenly into the dish.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the brownies for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Glazing
  1. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the dish.
  2. For a chocolate glaze, melt chocolate chips in a microwaveable cup, heating on high for 30 seconds and continuing in 15-second intervals until fully melted.
  3. Scoop the melted icing into a plastic zip-lock bag, snip off the tip, and squeeze over the cooled brownies.

Notes

Use Quality Ingredients for better flavor. Don’t overmix the batter to maintain fudginess. Chill for better flavor, and feel free to experiment with mix-ins.
