Ingredients

Truffle Base
  • 36 pieces regular Oreo cookies These classic cookies contribute a perfect balance of crispness.
  • 8 oz full-fat brick cream cheese, softened to room temperature Adds a luxurious texture, making the truffles melt in your mouth.
Chocolate Coating
  • 12 oz semi-sweet or white chocolate, coarsely chopped Provides a delectable sweetness that complements the filling.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil Keeps the melted chocolate smooth and easy to work with.
Optional Garnishes
  • sprinkles, Oreo crumbs, or additional melted chocolate For that stylish finishing touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies into a food processor or blender and pulse until finely crumbled.
  2. Combine with Cream Cheese: In a bowl, mix the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese until well combined and dough-like.
  3. Shape the Balls: Scoop out portions (18-22g each) and roll them into smooth balls. Refrigerate for 15 minutes if overly sticky.
  4. Chill the Balls: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or freeze for 30 minutes.
Melting Chocolate
  1. Melt the Chocolate: Combine chopped chocolate with oil in a bowl. Melt in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  2. Dip the Balls: Allow melted chocolate to cool slightly. Dip each ball into the chocolate, coat completely, and use a fork to lift and tap off excess chocolate.
Finishing Touches
  1. Garnish: While the chocolate is still wet, garnish with sprinkles or crumbs and drizzle additional melted chocolate if desired.
Setting
  1. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the chocolate to set completely. Store leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

Customize with different chocolate types or by adding flavors like peppermint extract. Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
