Ingredients

For the mozzarella balls
  • 16 oz Bocconcini These small mozzarella balls are perfectly creamy.
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Creates a light and crispy coating.
  • 3 large Eggs Beaten, they add a rich texture.
  • 1.5 cups Plain bread crumbs Offers the perfect crunch when fried.
  • 1.5 tsp Garlic powder For aromatic flavor.
  • 2.5 tsp Dried Italian seasoning Adds wonderful herbal notes.
  • 1.5 tsp Salt Essential for seasoning the coating.
  • Oil for frying Canola or vegetable oil For best results.
For serving
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce Perfect dip for the cheesy balls.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese Grated for extra flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Parsley Finely chopped for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Drain the mozzarella balls. Remove the bocconcini from their liquid and pat them dry with paper towels to prevent excess moisture.
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for the flour and seasonings, one for the beaten eggs, and one for the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat the mozzarella balls by first dredging them in the flour mixture, then dipping in the eggs, and finally rolling them in the breadcrumbs.
Freezing
  1. Arrange the breaded mozzarella balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 1-2 hours.
Frying
  1. Heat oil in a deep pan until it reaches 350°F. Fry the frozen mozzarella balls in small batches for 60-90 seconds until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Season with salt, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Ensure mozzarella is dried well to prevent splatters; use a digital thermometer for precise oil temperature; serve fresh for the best experience.
