  • 4 ounces milk Can substitute with non-dairy milk if preferred.
  • 3 tablespoons tahini Adds a nutty depth that complements the edamame.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil Enhances richness and provides a silky finish.
  • 2 cloves garlic Provides a fragrant and savory backbone to the dip.
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice Imparts brightness and balances the flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances the flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper Adds subtle heat without overpowering the dish.
For Topping
  • macadamias (crushed) Adds crunch and elegance.
  • black sesame seeds Enhances the nutty flavor profile.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by placing the edamame beans, milk, tahini, olive oil, and peeled garlic cloves in a food processor. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  2. If a thinner consistency is desired, consider adding more milk until you reach your desired texture.
Seasoning
  1. Add the lemon juice, salt, and ground white pepper to the blended ingredients. Mix well to ensure the flavors meld together.
  2. Taste-test your hummus; feel free to add more lemon juice, salt, or white pepper to suit your taste.
Serving
  1. Spoon the hummus into a serving bowl and sprinkle a generous amount of crushed macadamias and black sesame seeds on top.
  2. Serve with vegetable sticks or crispy crackers.

Notes

For a sweeter, milder flavor, consider roasting the garlic before blending. To make it spicier, add chili oil or fresh herbs like basil or cilantro. Serving with colorful veggie sticks can make it more appealing for kids.
