Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Juicy and savory, this will form the hearty base of your dish.
  • 1 large onion (diced) Sweet and aromatic, adds a layer of flavor.
  • 15.5 ounces pinto beans (rinsed and drained) Creamy and protein-packed.
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce Smooth and tangy.
  • 10 ounces canned Rotel tomatoes (diced tomatoes and green chilies) Bursting with flavor.
  • ¾ cup elbow macaroni (uncooked) Classic pasta shape that absorbs flavors.
  • ⅓ cup water Essential for cooking the macaroni.
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt Adds aromatic depth.
  • 1 Tablespoon ketchup Balances savory flavors.
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Elevates the overall taste.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Adds a creamy finish.

Method

Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and diced onions. Cook until the beef is browned and onions are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Drain excess grease from the skillet, then return beef and onions to heat.
  3. Add pinto beans, tomato sauce, diced Rotel tomatoes, macaroni, water, garlic salt, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine evenly.
  4. Increase heat to bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium-low and cover. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once macaroni is tender, remove lid and sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top. Cover again to melt the cheese.
  6. When cheese is melted and bubbly, serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

For an extra kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce. You can also sneak in some chopped bell peppers or corn for added texture and flavor.
