Preparation
- Combine all spices in a small bowl to make the spice mix.
- Transfer the spice blend onto a plate, creating an even layer.
- Coat the flesh side of each salmon piece generously with the spice mix.
Cooking
- Heat the oil in a large heavy-bottomed pan or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
- Once hot, carefully add the salmon, flesh side down.
- Cook the salmon for about 2-3 minutes per side until the skin is crispy.
- Let the salmon cool for a minute, then peel away the skin and shred the salmon into large chunks.
Assembly
- Char the tortillas on a gas stove until the edges are lightly burnt.
- Layer shredded lettuce, diced tomato, and red onion in each tortilla.
- Add about 1/2 of each salmon fillet into each taco.
- Top with cilantro, a drizzle of lime juice, and your choice of dressing.
Notes
Consider marinating salmon in lime juice for 15-30 minutes before applying the spice mix. Adjust cayenne pepper according to your heat preference. Try different tortilla types for added flavor.
