  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard Amplifies taste.
For glazing
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce Rich glaze for the ribs.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Provides a luscious finish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with tinfoil for easy cleanup.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, black pepper, brown sugar, coarse salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, and dry mustard.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, add the ribs and sprinkle the rub over them. Toss and coat thoroughly.
  5. Layer the coated ribs on the prepared baking sheet and cover with another piece of tinfoil.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the oven for 2 hours.
  2. In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce and honey until combined.
  3. After 2 hours, remove ribs from the oven and baste with the BBQ sauce mixture.
  4. Return the ribs to the oven for an additional 30 to 60 minutes, checking tenderness after 30 minutes.
  5. Once done, remove from the oven and baste with more BBQ sauce if desired.
  6. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper to your rub. Letting the spice rub sit on the ribs for hours or overnight can deepen flavors. To add smokiness without grilling, consider adding drops of liquid smoke to the sauce.
